Rod ends - 2 page
Rod ends (spherical plain bearings with housing) consist of a body with an integrated shank and a spherical plain bearing. This sliding bearing includes an inner and an outer ring without rolling elements. Rod ends are often mounted at the ends of hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders, as well as for connecting two shafts. They can compensate for misalignment and accommodate radial loads in tension or compression. They are available in both relubrication-required and maintenance-free versions, with options featuring external or internal threads, as well as types designed for welding to other components.
